Khalil Reed

Khalil Reed is a New England native. He is considered as an international artist, having spent much of his artistic energies touring abroad. By no means is Khalil a stranger to the states including the greater Atlanta arts community. Khalil has been seen in diverse venues and at the far front of many new beginnings that are now seen as artistic staples in Atlanta. Khalil's multi-talents include but are not limited to EWI musician, vocalist, percussionist, musical film and theater director, recording artist, actor, recording company entrepreneur, and arts instructor. He also makes Native American flutes and play them. He says humbly that “I am just a steward of these God given graces. My main goal and Commission in life is to assist others in comprehending the God given purpose of artistic gifts as well as good stewardship in their usage for perpetuating his Kingdom objectives.”
Khalil has been nominated for two bronze jubilee awards for original musical scores for numerous Atlanta musical theater productions. He has performed and worked as artists in residence at the following educational institutes Clark College Spelman College, Tuskegee Institute, Morehouse College, Bethune Cookman College, University of Georgia, Amherst College, University of Massachusetts, Smith College, Brown University, Hampshire college, New Orleans public school system and countless others. Khalil was commissioned by former ambassador Andrew young to represent the United States in African American theater. This tour across Europe was a representation of various arts prevalent in this country. Khalil was also entrusted with the whole of underground Atlanta to promote human service organizations to disseminate their information to the public. Included were two stages on both levels with 100 booths. 75,000 people were in attendance.
